Certification

The following document contains important information regarding Level I, Level II, and Level III Ski Instructor Certification through the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA).  If you are a member preparing for an exam please download and read through this information.

Pathway to Alpine Certification

Alpine Level 1:

-Prerequisite:  National member of PSIA / AASI.  Complete Level 1 Workbook before exam date. 
-No required Clinics.
-Recommended Clinics:  Attend a minimum of one 100 Level clinic.

Alpine Level 2:

-Prerequisite:  Current certified level 1 member of PSIA / AASI.  Candidates must pass the Alpine Level 2 online test before the exam date. 
-Required Clinics:  Certification preparation clinics
--Alpine Level 2 Teaching/Technical Prep
--Alpine Level 2 Riding Prep
-Recommended Clinics:  Attend a minimum one 200 level Skiiing clinic and one 200 level
 teaching/technical clinic or movement analysis clinic. 

Alpine Level 3:

-Prerequisite:  Current certified level 2 member of PSIA / AASI. Candidates must pass the Alpine Level 3 online test before the exam date. 
-Required Clinics:  Certification Preparation Clinics
--Alpine Level 3 Teaching/Technical Prep
--Alpine Level 3 Riding Prep
-Recommended Clinics: Attend a minimum one 300 level Skiing clinic and one 300 level
 teaching/technical clinic or movement analysis clinic.
